Throughout our days we will have temptations that come before us. It's not always huge and dramatic, but Jesus wants us to understand there's an enemy of our soul who wants to take us towards things that will look good but will not be for our good.
God wants to be like a shepherd who takes us to green pastures. When we regularly begin to pray, "lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil" we open up space in our life where God can work. He takes us to still waters. He takes us into these wide open and wonderful spaces. That's what God wants for our life.

One of the best things we can focus on, that will help us most to live well, is walking in forgiveness. We come to understand that there's a dynamic between actually finding God's forgiveness in our life and extending that forgiveness to the people around us. When we do that, we find goodness and blessing from God and instead of holding unforgiveness, we can begin to pray blessing for others.

This next section of the Lords Prayer “Give us today, our daily bread” is the moment where the rubber meets the road for us. It’s an invitation to leave worry behind and trust God right here, right now.
The future may be uncertain. If you try to live in the future, your heart is going to be uncertain. If you can break that grip and say, “Father, give us today our daily bread” there’s incredible freedom waiting there for you. There’s peace. There’s an invitation to live in the beauty and simplicity and contentment of life.

Jesus says, when we pray to our father in heaven, we should pray "your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven!" He wants you to shift the focus of your life, shift your attention to this: your life is about seeing God's kingdom come here on earth as it is in heaven. It's a BIGGER picture of reality! And whenever we pray your kingdom come, your will be done, we're beginning to shift that focus of our lives.
